Sairam-su
This fast mountain stream in the Sairam-Ugam National Park originates from the Lower Sairam Lake. The water rushing down from the mountains suddenly disappears right under your feet, dissolving among the rocks. Amazing! But this phenomenon is explained by the fact that the rivulet disappears into the underground moraine and then flows out again to the surface of the earth. Along the way, it merges with six other springs and flows into the large river Sairam-su.

"You collect mountain water from seven streams, throw seven mountain healing herbs into it, boil it and voila! The tea is excellent. Such a drink is considered a doping, and athletes are forbidden to drink it before competitions! Every time after the excursion we collect this healing water in liters and take it home to the city," said Kairat Karibayev, a guide of the regional station of young tourists.

It is noteworthy that the Lower Sayram Lake is transparent and looks like an eight or infinity sign, and if you go up the stony slope, then after 7 kilometers you can get to the Upper Sayram Lake, which differs from the Lower with its saturated turquoise color. In these picturesque places, travelers often manage to see red-billed black storks. A trip to the Sairam lakes is very popular among local sportsmen and young people.

Legend:
In ancient times, high up in the mountains, there lived people. And, as usual, the daughter of the head of the tribe was betrothed from infancy to a rich khan. The daughter of the mountains and steppes grew up beautiful and free, proud and determined. The time came when she fell in love with a young shepherd from her clan. They decided to ask their parents for blessing. But the girl's father was angry. He demanded that she fulfill her duty and become the wife of a rich khan. -No way! - decided the proud girl. And late at night, together with her lover, they ran away from their native village. The old grandmother blessed them and gave the bride a turquoise ring and a snake bracelet as a gift. She ordered them to use the gift only in case of the most extreme need. The lovers ran far away during the night, but the angry father catches up with the rebellious daughter. Then the girl threw the turquoise ring to the ground and a lake with water of a marvelous malachite color was formed on this place. The chase was delayed. But the voice of the angry father sounded loudly in the mountain gorge: "I curse!” A heavy groan resounded all around, and the earth trembled, and rocks from the mountain tops fell, blocking the way of the fugitives. From the last strength, with bloody hands and feet, they climbed up the rocks. But the chase was getting closer and closer. Then the lovers stopped, hugged each other tightly and swore never to part. The girl took the bracelet off her hand and threw it in front of her. And a new lake appeared on this place in the shape of a figure eight, symbolizing infinity. For, love is infinite, but parental authority over children and the power of the given word are equally infinite. And for many years the waters of turquoise color (girls) and transparent blue (boys) have been merged together. And just as you can't divide a lake into two halves by a drop, so the souls of the lovers, who gave birth to this lake, are eternally united.
